What does it take to train a service dog?...

Meet Jarvis, he has been in training through Paws Giving Independence since he was 7 months old.  He is almost 2 years old now and has been training full time for over a year to become a service dog.  So, are there any secrets to training a service dog? The secret is... time and hard work!

Jarvis and his handler, Laura, have been hard at work to make sure Jarvis is ready to help children with disabilities at Easterseals.
When I asked her what she likes best about training Jarvis she said,
"I can't say enough good things about my time with him and I am looking forward to seeing his success long term.  As much as I will miss him, seeing him go on to do something that is making someone else's life a little better is so much bigger than any sadness I have when saying goodbye."
